William George 'Bill' Zuver, went home safely to the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the age of 52. He was born October 7, 1958 in Roseburg, Oregon, son of Larry and Judy (Rowan) Zuver. Bill was raised in Winston and graduated from Douglas High School. He then attended Umpqua Community College and later graduated from Willamette University Law School in 1983. Bill returned to Winston and worked at the family business, Winston Realty and Insurance. He later went on to work as a manager for Dell and FCR. Bill was active in his community and served as Winston's Mayor from 1985 -1987 and in 1995 was honored as First Citizen Of Winston. He enjoyed sports and reading, especially about history, but mostly he was committed to his family. He is survived by his wife, Beth of Winston and their children, Christopher Zuver and his wife Lexie of Selah, Washington and Monica Zuver of Winston. Bill also leaves his parents, Larry and Judy of Winston, a brother, Robert Zuver and his wife Bernie of Grants Pass, and two sisters, Shirlie Stratton of Roseburg and Julie Zuver of Oakland. His grandmother, Lenora Zuver Duncan and her husband LeRoy of Tenmile, Oregon also survives Bill as well as his father in-law, Don Richards of Winston. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Elton Zuver; Willie and Jean McClendon and Ken and May Rowan. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Winston Foursquare Center with Pastor Jerry Smart officiating. Private interment will be at the Civil Bend Pioneer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Taylor's Family Chapel.
