Wayne Kenneth Ballard, age 74, passed away suddenly at his home on March 23, 2013. Wayne was born on January 26, 1939 in Weiser, Idaho to parents Kenneth and Constance Ballard. Wayne was a proud service member of the U.S. Navy and a Korean War veteran. He was a talented and very accomplished artist. Wayne was well recognized in his community for his artistic contributions. Wayne had many outdoor passions, including dog sledding, snow shoeing, bicycling, hunting and fishing. He also loved to fly. Wayne attended and graduated from college and retired from Roseburg Lumber after thirty years of dedicated service. Wayne leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Margaret of 24 years; ten children, Richard Ballard of California, Tamara Ballard and Kenneth Ballard both of Florida, Guy Ballard of Arizona and six step-children born to wife Margaret, five brothers, Jon, Larry, Donald, Jerry Ballard of Oregon, Jim Mason of Idaho and two sisters; Darlene Hatch of Oregon and Arlene Meyers of California; numerous daughter-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Wayne will be missed by all who knew him. A viewing will be held at the Winston VFW Hall at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2013 with full military honors to follow at Civil Bend Pioneer Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
