Velma V. Craig, of Glide, Oregon, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2009 at the age of 94. She was born on April 28, 1915 in Stites, Idaho to parents Allen and Orah Crader. Velma met the love of her life Oscar Craig and on May 27, 1933 the two were united in marriage in Enterprise, Oregon. The two moved to Sutherlin, Oregon in 1933 to start a family and they later settled in the Glide area. Velma had an extremely hard work ethic and always had more than one job at a time. She loved driving truck and also worked as a school bus driver. She enjoyed gardening and spending time outdoors in general. She was also a very proficient canner. Velma is preceded in death by her husband of over 64 years Oscar as well as her parents and seven siblings. She is survived by her daughter Darlene, 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Glide Grange.
