On November 26, 2013 Thomas Brady left us and we lost a wonderful husband and father whose family was his life. Tom leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Linda, a son Tracy and daughter-in-law Kim, and daughter Jennifer. He also thought of Steve Wechter, and Travis Inks as his sons, Nataly, Kyle and Alex as his grandchildren. He was a man who truly lived by the "code of the West", always do the right thing, and always tell the tuth. He drove log truck his entire life, having learned from an original, his father-in-law, Ben Lester, old school all the ay. He was still driving for Denali Logging the day he left us, and he considered the crew his family also. And they were family, considering that most of them had been together for the past twenty years. His passion was team roping, and his horse Smoothy, and his dogs, Sam and Goldie. He won several saddles and buckles through the years, while enjoying team roping with his family, who were also his partners in this event. You might say he learned to rop "old school" also, having been taught by George Schricker, Chum Sommers, and Ed Burris. Tom, you left us too soon, we had a lot left to do. But one never knows what the future will be, or how our lives will unfold, so one must make every "run" count. Until we meet again, I know that you are with good company, George, Chum, Ed, and Eddie. Brownie, Jake, and Chip, are waiting too, with endless steers to rope. As Jake and Chip would say "we will ride together now, old friend, so don't forget your rope." A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Coquille Valley Elks Club located at 54942 Maple Heights Rd Coquille, OR 97423-7745 Casual attire for all in attendance.
