In Memory of Sybil Clark, loved by all who knew her, born January 12, 1921, in Blossom, Texas, to Demie and Newton Wolf. Married George E. Clark July 4, 1939. They had two sons, Windell and Archie. Out lived her husband of 50 years by 22 years, an older sister and younger brother. Lived independently until three weeks short of 90. Retired from the Douglas County Nursing Home where she was head cook. Cooking was one of her passions, and was really quite exceptional, ask anyone who ever had the pleasure of eating at her table. Sybil went out of her way to make sure there was enough food for everyone. Always trying out new recipes on family and quilt club members. One serving of one recipe was never enough, but a small serving of each dish was more than you could eat. Mom had a real green thumb, plants and flowers everywhere; she could grow anything in rocks. Just look at her driveway. She loved crafts of all kinds especially quilting which she excelled at for 70 years, making the front page of the News-Review June 3, 1983. She was active in a quilting club for over 35 years. She spent many hours by herself cutting, piecing and stitching quilt tops. Her home overflowed with quilting and couldn't begin to count the quilts made over many years and given away. She never tired of picking up a needle and thread. She is survived by two sons, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, and many friends, who will miss her dearly. Services will be held at Taylor's Mortuary at 245 W. Main, Winston, Or. on Tuesday, April 26th, 2011, at 11:30 a.m.
