Obituary

Rudy Martin Mauch, 87 years old, passed away At Abrazzo West Hospital in Goodyear Arizona on March 24, 2026. Rudy was born in Altadena, California on July 29, 1938, to Henry and Cacilie Mauch.


In 1956, as a young man, Rudy enlisted in the U.S Coastguard, and was stationed at The Point Arguello Light Station in Lompoc California for 6 years. He got married to Victoria Hiltscher in 1957. After his service in USCG, he attended The Cal Poly Technical Institute.


In the mid 1960's, they moved to Roseburg Oregon where he found his life's calling as a law enforcement officer there. A decade later, Rudy joined the Springfield Oregon Police Department where he gave several years of service and remained there until retirement. Rudy remarried in 1975, he and his second wife Jean Crumpacker then moved to Huntington Beach California after their retirement, they enjoyed the beach life.


Eventually, the pull of being near family brought them back to Oregon where they settled in Lincoln City for several years. They were members of The Oregon Chapter of The United States Light House Society. After Jean's death in 2008 he moved to Bend Oregon to be near his son, Ken and daughter-in-law Betsy. After they moved to Arizona Rudy moved back to Springfield to enjoy his friends and then in 2024 he moved to Wickenburg Arizona where family was. Rudy resided at Rustic Ranch, a retirement community that he enjoyed.


Rudy is survived by sons, Steve and Ken, daughter Heidi, and their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at Taylor's Family Mortuary, located at: 245 SW Main St, Winston, Oregon. The service will begin at 11:00 AM on April 11, 2026 His final resting place will be at The Tenmile Community Cemetery, located in Tenmile Oregon.
