Ronald 'Ron' J. Hanlin of Roseburg, Oregon passed away on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the age of 52. He was born in Roseburg on June 26, 1959 to parents James Wesley and Virginia (Koller) Hanlin. He graduated from Roseburg High School then went on to serve his apprenticeship in Roseburg. Ron attend college at the San Francisco Mortuary College in California. After graduation he worked at a funeral home in Lincoln City before coming to Roseburg to take a job at Chapel of the Roses Funeral Home. He later became manager of that funeral home and in 1996 became associated with Taylor's Family Mortuary in Winston. Ron was united in marriage to Judy Ballard on January 24, 1987 in Roseburg. They honeymooned in Costa Rica. He enjoyed leather working, yard work, puttering around and riding his motorcycle with his wife and daughter. He is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Judy. He also leaves his daughter Molly Jo Hanlin of Roseburg; mother-in-law Marilyn Ballard of Roseburg; brother-in-law Scott Ballard and his wife Orlena of Hillsboro, Oregon; brother-in-law Troy Ballard of Sun Valley, Idaho; sister-in-law Lynn Hansen of Beaverton, Oregon; sisters Lynette Nielson of Roseburg and Elleen Friesz and her husband Ron of Ephrata, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather Lynn Stephens and his father-in-law, Joe Ballard. Ron was a consummate professional who gave to his community. He will be greatly missed. Friends and family may pay their respects on Sunday, January 15, 2012 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Taylor's Family Chapel. Memorial services will be on Monday, January 16, 2012 at Reedemer's Fellowship, located on 3031 West Harvard, in Roseburg at 2:00 pm. with Pastor Steve Walker officiating. Private interment will be at Roseburg Memorial Gardens. Donations in Ron's name can be made to the Redeemer's Youth Center, 729 SE Jackson St. Roseburg, Oregon 97470
