TSGT Robert "Bob" W. Wert age 63 passed away February 11, 2010 in Roseburg, Oregon at home with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. Robert was born November 16, 1947 in Albany, New York to Wilson and Dorothy (Warren) Wert . Bob joined the Air Force in 1966 serving in Vietnam and retiring in 1986 as a flight engineer technician. After serving for 20 years he began a career in welding. He also worked as a laboratory technician at College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, California. After suffering a back injury Bob returned to school again and became a computer technician. Bob loved NASCAR and riding his Harley Road King. He was a life time member of the VFW. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Sera Wert, daughters Michele and her husband Mark Curlin of Roseburg and Sera Boles in California, grandchildren Kareasa, Cayla, Wynter, Ryver, and Skye Curlin of Roseburg Jenni, Leah, Kevin Clark of Mentone, California and before his death he meet his first great grandchild Nattalya Theall of Roseburg. He was preceded in death by a grandson Austin Curlin. A memorial service will held at 11:00 AM on Friday , February 19, 2010 at the Roseburg National Cemetery. Military rites will be offered by the VFW District 12 Honor Guard.
