Richard (Dick) Lawrence Rust, age 85, of Camas Valley, Oregon passed away January 9, 2024. He was born May 6, 1938 in Redlands, San Bernardino County, California. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Dick lived in Newhall, California and worked in the rodeo industry for several years before he moved into a career in the movie industry. He worked as a wrangler in western films and television movies, working with stock, driving wagons, and as an extra when needed. He later worked in the transportation end of the business, driving large vehicles moving wardrobe, movie sets, film canisters and actors. He retired to his ranch, with his wife and his horses in Camas Valley and was a resident there for 25 years. He was a member of Camas Valley Christian Fellowship and he loved the Lord Jesus Christ.His new residence has streets paved with gold.Richard is survived by his wife, Merry Lou Rust of Camas Valley, Oregon, his son, Andrew Wayne Rust (Abby) of New York, his grandson Daniel James Richard Rust of New York, his grandson Chandler Lawrence Rust (Flora) of Victorville, California and his brother Ronald Wayne Rust (Ronda) of Camas Valley, Oregon.Richard leaves 3 great grandchildren, Aubree, Addison and Carter Lawrence, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.Richard was preceded in death by his son Danny Lawrence Rust. There will be a Memorial Service for Richard in the Spring at Camas Valley Christian Fellowship.
