Raylene Joyce Atteberry, of Camas Valley, Oregon passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010 at the age of 70. She was born in Loveland, Colorado on January 9, 1939 to parents Ray and Ruth (Barr) Moore. On May 26, 1979 she was united in marriage to the love of her life James 'Red' Atteberry in Camas Valley. The two lived in Camas Valley where they raised a family and were very active in the community. Raylene was an avid community organizer, who made available to Camas Valley residents and children many new programs. She organized activities such as Grandparents Day and the Home Coming parade for the school district. In the community she started numerous programs such as The Cub Scouts, Blue Birds, Campfire Girls, SMART, Safe Kids, the Easter Egg hunt, flower mugs, and numerous fund raisers. She also played an important and active role in the Camas Valley Grange and the fire department. She also was the person that made the "Handfuls of Love" that were distributed to members of the community when they were grieving. Raylene is survived by her loving husband James 'Red' Atterberry; children Wyatt and Lori Dunham, Tanya Hall and Dale Shaw, Trena and Steve Fields, JC and Sharon Atteberry, Denny and Yvonne Atteberry, Robert and Lori Atteberry, and Jim and Janet Clift of Eugene; sister Norma Handsaker of Bandon and brother Warren and Gloria Moore of Bothell, Washington. She also leaves 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren and numerous adopted children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A celebration of Raylene's life will be held at the Camas Valley Grange on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Camas Valley Fire Department to keep her projects going strong.
