Michael “Mike” Newton was born on July 21, 1965, in Canyonville, Oregon, to Lupe Zepeda Newton and Keith William Newton. He passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 60. He grew up in Myrtle Creek, Oregon where he attended South Umpqua High School before later studying at Wyoming Technical Institute.

Mike spent much of his career working in the timber industry, dedicating the last 14 years of his life to supervisory roles. Outside of work, his greatest passion was bow hunting elk. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours in his archery shop, where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge and love of archery with others.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Laura; his children Travis and Melissa; his daughter-in-law Cass and his son-in-law Nathan; his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; his brother Tony Newton and his sister Teresa Cox and brother-in-law Rick; his step daughters Darlene DeBoy and her husband Sean and Belinda Osborne and her husband Toby; numerous nieces, nephews, special cousins, and his close friend Dave Harding.

He was preceded in death by his father Keith William Newton and his mother Lupe Zepeda Newton.

Mike will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, especially bow hunting elk, his infectious laugh, his warm smile, and the deep love he had for his family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all of who knew and loved him.
