Michael Robert McKay, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at the age of 56. He was born in Roseburg on March 23, 1956 to parents Harold Delwin, Jr. and Virgina (Gibbons) McKay. Being born and raised in the area, Michael loved Roseburg and was proud of Roseburg High School. After graduating in 1974, he went on to play football for Mt. Hood Community College. Michael loved camping, hiking, snowmobiling and all things outdoors. In July of 2003 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Emily Webber. Mike was a true people person who had a heart for the people around him and was absolutely sincere in his care and concern for everyone. Mike truly enjoyed his career as a salesman in the car business, as well as his volunteer work with Special Olympics. He loved his family and was completely dedicated to his role as a father and husband. He is survived by his loving wife Emily; daughters Savannah, Meagan and Chelsea; his mother Virginia; three brothers Del and his wife Debbie, David and his wife Roxanne, Mark and his wife Rebecca; as well as numerous nieces, cousins, and many great friends. Memorial services will be held at Wellspring Bible Fellowship on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Ron Laeger. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in Mike's memory to the Douglas County Special Olympics Program.
