Matthew Wayne Stewart, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at the age of 24. He was born in Lancaster, California on September 11, 1985 to parents Kenneth Stewart and Michelle Tarbell. Matthew relocated with family to Oregon and was raised and educated in the Roseburg area where he attended Roseburg High School. Matthew was preceded in death by father Kenneth Stewart and an uncle Robert Stewart. Matthew is survived by mother Michelle Brillon and step-mother Leslie A. Sanderson; father Michael Sanderson and dad Jay Brillon; brothers Levi Stewart and Aaron Grina; sisters Desiree Stewart, and Erika and Nichole Berge; Lou and Janice Brillon and family and the Tarbell family. He leaves grandparents Jerry and Marianne Stewart. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews. Matthew leaves his world behind as well, his beautiful daughter Talia. To our loving son, Matthew - Your spirit was so free and you brought light into a room when you entered. While we all miss you greatly we know we will see you again at the feet of our Lord. We know He has taken away your pain and given you a new body. Your love and laughter touched many lives and you taught your family how to be strong. Matthew was always a joy to be around, he found humor in most everything. He was also the peace maker of our family. After a heart transplant at 16 years of age, we were fortunate to have eight more years with him. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the North Roseburg Evangelical Free Church located at 1553 NE Vine St. in Roseburg. There has been an account set up at the NW Community Credit Union on Kline St. in Roseburg and on Grange Rd. in Green to help the family with funeral expenses.
