Obituary

Mary Marie Putman was born March 27, 1949 in Fresno, California to Rufus "Bill" Martin and Belva Mae Ogle passed away in her sleep June 6, 2011 at 8:05 am. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Belva and Bill Martin and her sons, Michael Shane Morris and Johnnie Ray Monroe. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jim Putman of Roseburg. As well as sisters; Ella "Tootsie" and husband John "Preacher John" Lazarus of Eugene and Dorothy "Dot" Gosda of Winston. She leaves her sons, Donnie (Julie) Melson of Tri City, Michael (Candace) Putman of Canyonville, George Monroe of Roseburg and David (his girlfriend Sylvia Montelongo) Putman of Oakland as well as daughters April (Tim) Bellinger and Melanie (Jason) Kingore both of Glide. She also leaves 18 grand children and five great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and many more family and friend to numerous to mention. Mary left school early in high school and was very proud that she was able to return in the 1980's to achieve her High School Diploma, after which she became a certified Nurse Assistant. For most of her life Mary was a mother, a wife, a sister and a caregiver in assisted care homes. Although she had seven children and had many more who called her mom. Graveside services will be held within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 1pm. Following the services family and friends are welcome to celebrate her life at Abby's Pizza on Stephen's St in Roseburg around 2:30. Guests will be responsible for their own food and drinks. Memorial contributions can be made in Mary's name to the Community Cancer Center, 2880 NW Stewart Parkway, Roseburg, Oregon 97471
