On January 12, 2024 Mary J. Grubbs passed away peacefully at the age of 68 with her husband and family by her side.
Mary was born on September 9, 1955 in Munich Germany on a military base, her family then moved to Saugus California while her father was in the service, and then to Roseburg Oregon in 1968.

On June 9, 1973 Mary married her high school sweetheart Melvin Grubbs and moved away to Texas for two years while Melvin was in the Army. When they moved back to Roseburg they had two children Brian and Jenny. Mary was mainly a stay at home mom doing part time work painting ceramics and eventually worked as a video clerk for Umpqua Video for several years. Unfortunately Mary had a stroke in 2005 that she never really recovered from. Mary enjoyed playing computer games, and watching movies especially those with special effects, she was a huge Trump supporter and rediscovered her faith over the last few years. Our family will miss her every moment of every day. We will take comfort in knowing she will be joining her parents Merl and Violet Bibby and her granddaughter Tabitha Belle Kathan in a better place with no pain, no disabilities just peace, love and happiness.
Mary left behind her husband Melvin Grubbs, daughter Jenny Kathan and son in law Dan Kathan, son Brian Grubbs and daughter in law Tracy Grubbs. Mary also had 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, Samantha Nelson, Tyler Kathan, Adam Kathan, Ariel Kathan, Leah Grubbs, Branden Grubbs, Brody and Wyatt Nelson and Aubry Kame. There will not be a service but we are planning a celebration of life at a later date, please reach out if you would like to join us.
