Mary Eileen Black passed away on February 28, 2010 at the age of 92. She was born November 11, 1917 in Rhame, North Dakota to parents August and Mae (Kiley) Wiest. She was raised in Sykeston, North Dakota. She was united in marriage to James Lewis Black on January 5, 1939. The two moved to Compton, California where they started their family. Mary was a lifetime member of T.O.P.S. and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, Dennis and his wife Maew, Edward, James Michael and his wife Patty, Thomas and his wife Stephanie, and William and his wife Jeannie; grandchildren Craig and his wife Faith, Cheryl, James, Bridget, Stacy, Douglas, Michelle, Shannon, Megan, and John; 26 great-grandchildren and 28 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Myron, Glenn, Francis, Margaret, Clare, Dolores, and Cletus.
