Marian Louise Jeffers Marian L. Jeffers, age 82, of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at her home. Marian was born November 3, 1932, in Rupert, Idaho to William and Goldie (Pearl) Lilley. She liked to say she was born the same day Roosevelt was elected President of the United States. Marian was raised in Burley and Rupert, Idaho. She moved to Myrtle Creek where she was working when she met her future husband Sam Jeffers. On December 1, 1960, Marian and Sam where united in marriage at the Dillard Winston United Methodist Church. She and Sam owned and operated the Winston In and Out, which later became the Winston Drive In. They also owned the Junction Cafe. Marian and Sam were volunteers at the Roseburg Veterans Hospital. She was recently awarded with a pin honoring her 12,500 hours of service covering 40 years. She was a life member of the Winston V.F.W. Auxiliary, and a life member of the Military Order of the Cooties Auxiliary. Marian is survived by her husband of 54 years, Sam; children, Sheryl Winter of Roseburg, Jerry Matsen of Winston and Dale Matsen of Roseburg; six stepchildren, Charlotte, Louise, Barbara, Debbie, Susan and Sammy; nine grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews. Marian was preceded in death by her two sisters and a brother. Entombment will be at the Roseburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 11:00 am. Memorial services will follow at the Winston V.F.W. Post in Winston, Oregon at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Animal Shelter or the V.F.W. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, April 5, 2015 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Taylor's Family Chapel.
