Lawana "Lou" Fields passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2023. Born April 6, 1941 in
Lodi, California to Clarence and Dorothy Orleathe (Potter) Scharbrough, she was one of 6
children born to Dorothy Orleathe and one of 9 children born to Clarence. She grew up on a
farm in Acampo, California where they raised horses, cows and chickens. She had many
memories of her favorite horse Smokey. She attended elementary school in Acampo, California
and graduated from Lodi High School. Lou was an independent, hard working woman. During
her young adult years she worked a variety of jobs from waitressing to millwork. She retired in
2003 from San Joaquin County in the CPS office. Lou loved collecting elephants. Her figurine
collection brought her immense joy and she loved when her friends & family would bring her
more elephants to add to the herd. Lou is survived by her daughter Marlene (Tom) Flora of
Myrtle Creek, OR, son Curtis R. (Wendy) Fields of Myrtle Creek, OR, son Jimmy (Allison)
Scharbrough of Glide, OR and daughter Alison (Scott) Haws of Boise, ID. She was a loving
grandmother to Tami & Cody, Shantelle & John, Cherise & Danny, Kelli & Jeff, Roxanne & Joe,
Rachel & Cory, Kurt & Tiffany, Marissa & Cole, Jonathon, Nathaniel, Noah & Grace, Sabrina,
Sanora, and Sophia. Lou was a Great-Grandmother to Brooke, Marcus & Kennah, Brandon,
Dylan, Logan, Sydnie, Kade, Taylor, Hannah, Jordan, Charlee, Luna, Lyric, Jon, Jiahna, Damion,
Ryker and Cora. Lou had two great great grand-daughters Josie and Gwenevere Jo. Lou was
also survived by her lifelong friend, Beverly Lincecum. Lou was preceded in death by her
Mother, Orleathe; Stepfather, Lowell; Father, Clarence; Stepmother, Dorothy; three Brothers;
one Sister; Son-in-Law Wes Dunn; Daughter-in-Law Charlotte Fields; Great Grand Daughter
Brooke Kortum-Hackett; and lifelong friends, Bill and Wanda Smedley
