Larry was born in Roseburg Oregon on July 24, 1941 to Ervin and Maxine Goetz, both of Roseburg. Larry passed peacefully at his home on June 22, 2014 at 72 years young. Larry is survived by his beautiful wife of 42 great years, Artha, and his sister Maria Cole of Milwaukie Oregon. Larry and Artha have 8 kids, 12 grand kids and 20 great grand kids. Their kids live up and down the I-5 Corridor. Their oldest daughter Mary and her husband Gary live in Sutherlin Oregon and have 2 kids and 4 grand kids. Their son Mike and his wife Cheryl live in Tenmile Oregon and have 3 kids and 6 grand kids. Their son Steve and his wife Laurie live in Eagle Point Oregon. Their son Dave and his wife Lori live in Sweet Home Oregon and have 3 kids and 4 grand kids. Their son Larry lives in Brighton Massachusetts. Their daughter Debbie and her husband Rick live in White City Oregon and have 1 kid and 1 grand kid. Their daughter Annette and her husband Ron live in Roseburg Oregon and have 2 kids and 4 great grand kids. Their youngest daughter Kate and her husband Rick live in Roseburg Oregon and have 1 kid and 1 grand kid. Larry spent 32 years at Champion International prior to its closure in 1995. He worked for Douglas County until retiring in 2003. He served 12 years as a volunteer Fire Fighter for the city of Roseburg receiving numerous awards and recognitions. Larry enjoyed spending time gardening, hunting, fishing and spending countless hours supporting Roseburg High School Athletics. Larry was a season football ticket holder for 42 plus years and traveled with the team for the better part of 39 years supporting Indian Football missing only a small handful of games. We would like to thank Ron, Tom and Dale, the "Beam Team", for the Friday night memories and there dedicated friendship in which dad anxiously looked forward to. Services will be held at Taylor's Family Mortuary on Monday June 30, 2014 at 11:00 AM. A gathering will be held at Four Square Church in Winston after the services. Larry will be laid to rest at Lookingglass Cemetery in Lookinglass Oregon after the gathering for those who desire to see Larry laid peacefully to rest. At the family's requests, contributions can be made to Roseburg Senior High School c/o Indian Football program.
