Kenneth William
Gregory Jr.
Jan 13, 1967 — Jan 4, 2022
Winston
Kenneth "Kenny" William Gregory, Jr. of Tenmile, Oregon passed away at the age of 54 on January 4, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer at the home of very dear friends, Jamie Joanette & Chris Denney, in Winston OR. He was surrounded by family and loved ones. Kenny was diagnosed in December 2021 and lived his life to the fullest, fighting it with all his strength, until the good Lord called him home at the early age of 54.
Kenny was born January 13, 1967 in Fort Pierce, Florida to Kenneth W. Gregory, Sr. and Beverly Ann Gregory Rogers. It's ironic that he was born near the Atlantic Ocean and passed near the Pacific Ocean. There is a lot of distance between those two places and he loved each and every mile of this great country. He was a veteran and a patriot down to the core. Kenny attended school in the Atlanta, GA area and enlisted in the Air Force in his late teens. After his enlistment, he lived in the Greensboro, NC area and undertook many endeavors from auto mechanic to having his own sound company where he provided the acoustics for many venues. He eventually moved to Oregon and finished his time there associated with the Tenmile Fire Department as a trainer. Kenny loved being with the fire fighters and had many friends and colleagues there. He was passionate and dedicated to helping others no matter what the circumstances.
Survivors include his father, Ken, Sr, and wife Kathy of Inverness FL and his mother, Beverly Rogers and partner Ray Petri of Marana AZ. Daughter, Rebecca Ann Gregory, Greensboro NC; stepdaughter Jenny Bankhead, Donald OR; uncle Bill Jansen, Oro Valley, AZ; aunt Alice Jansen, Colorado Springs CO; uncle Kevin Gregory, Tulsa OK; aunt Jo Gregory, Fort Pierce, FL; cousins Dr Laura Jansen, Charlottesville VA and Lane Jansen, Colorado Springs CO; three grandchildren and "grandpa" to many more. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randy Gregory, who passed in August 2021.
A memorial service will be held in Oregon. Time and date have not been determined at this time. A celebration of life and internment of his ashes will be held at the Bluemont Presbyterian Church located on the lovely Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Kenny's honor to your favorite charity.
