Obituary

Jon went to be with his father and grandfather on Saturday, June 2, 2012 unexpectedly at the age of 42. He was born in Sacramento, CA on July 8, 1969 to Thomas Frederick and Mikel (May) Frederick. Being born into a military family meant Jon lived in many different places. Jon was only a few months old when his father returned from his second tour in Vietnam and relocated his family from Sacramento, CA to Ft. Bragg, NC. His father soon retired from the Army but still Jon migrated throughout the US. His family lived in Florida, Kentucky, Texas and finally Roseburg, OR in 1980. Jon attended Sunnyslope Elementary, Fremont Junior High and Roseburg High School where he excelled in Track and Field. Jon graduated in 1987 and entered the Army soon after. He returned to Roseburg after serving his tour of duty to be with his family. Jon eventually settled into being a sheet metal worker where he made many friends to add to his already long list of great friends. When Jon entered a room you couldn't help but notice him. At 6'7" he always got a glance but he could keep that glance with his beautiful smile and great sense of humor. He will be greatly missed. Preceding him in death is his much loved father Thomas Frederick, his maternal grandfather Frank May, his paternal grandfather Leander Frederick, his paternal grandmother Myrtle (Davis) Frederick, paternal uncle Kenneth Frederick and his paternal aunts Marie Collins, June Taylor, Peggy Baldwin and Ruby Nuno. He is survived by his mother Mikel Frederick, grandmother Jan May, maternal aunt Stephanie (Russ) Boyden, paternal aunt Leona (Jack) Gibson, sisters Gina Lavin, Lynn VanFleet and Chris Moorman, brother Robert Frederick, niece Alicia Lenihan, nephew Thomas Lavin, great-niece Bayliegh Crosier and many more nieces, nephews and cousins to numerous to name. Jon's family would like to thank all of Jon's many friends for their kindness and support. A special thanks to Bion, Dave, Gordon and Logan for all their help in making this tragedy bearable.
