Obituary

Joann (Jodie) Lynn Noland was born April 11, 1957 and joined her Heavenly Father on September 14, 2020.  Jodie was an amazing wife to Rick; mother of 5 biological children, Loren, Matt, Jay (Marcia), Melanie (John), and Kira (Seth), and numerous "adopted" children; Grammy and Great-Grammy to countless more; and "bonus sister" to Ken.  She was preceded in death by her son, Loren, and her parents, Ida Ann and Max Prociw and her best friend, Tina Bjerke.

She dedicated her life to Jesus, her family, and her music.  She was a teacher and counselor, both in her career and personally. She worked as a teacher at Phoenix Charter School and as a return-to-work teacher/counselor at Umpqua Training & Employment. Later ,she became an ordained minister and counseled couples and performed several weddings and baptisms.  She was an island in the storm for many hurting people, always giving sound advice and a hand up whenever it was needed.

Jodie was diagnosed with emphysema/COPD 20 years ago and a rare form of pancreatic cancer two years ago.  She lived her best life despite battling chronic disease.  In fact, the last two years were her best. She married her best friend, Rick, and they went on many "Bucket List" adventures.  She loved going to the coast, going fishing on their pontoon boats, camping with her family, worshiping Jesus with her church family, and rocking out to Journey.

Jodie was the true chief of our tribe. Her memory will live on through us all. Wherever there is love and laughter, she will be there in spirit. She will always be missed and never forgotten. SHMILY... See how much I love you. 🌹
