Gary Howard Sweetin was born in San Mateo, California, on March 16th, 1963. He was the son of Howard and Sandra (Mitchell) Sweetin. Gary was reported missing on November 22nd, 2024. Due to very high water, severe weather conditions, and extreme vegetation along the river banks; multiple searches were conducted, and they were unable to find him. On January 18th, 2025, searchers were able to locate his remains near the South Umpqua river in Winston, Oregon among the vegetation. He is survived by his mother Sandi, brothers Roger and Wesley, life partner Sue, and sons Jeremy and Jacob. His father Howard proceeds him in death. Gary had many friends and family who will miss him. The family would like to thank Cow Creek Tribal Police, Douglas County Marine Patrol, Search and Rescue Team, Winston Police Department, and Wildlife Safari staff for all of their help to find Gary. Sue would like to give a special thanks to the Wildlife Safari RV host for all their kindness and help they provided for her. There will be no service per his request, and his ashes will be scattered at a later date.
