Dolph "Dee" Boyer Was born June 5th, 1924, in Roseburg, Oregon, to Alfred and Elizabeth Boyer. Dee quietly passed away on May 1st, of 2011 being survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia L. Boyer. Dee's military career included periods of active duty in the Army and then the Air force. Dee spent time in England during WWII. Dee continued service in the U.S. Air Force Reserves until June of 1984. He remained involved in War Birds and D Company Reunions throughout the rest of his life. In 1948, he began his career as an Oregon State Highway Weighmaster, retiring in 1986 as a Senior Weighmaster from the State of Oregon. Upon Dee's retirement, he had unlimited time to spend with his family which was his lifelong passion. Dee's immediate family includes: son, Michael Boyer and his daughter, Amanda Hicks and family. Daughter, Sue Williams and her daughter, Sarah Williams. Son, Steve Boyer and his wife, Rachel and their children, Brian, James and Kaitlin. Additional family members include his niece, Becky Boyer and nephews, Tim Zuck and Bob Zuck Jr. He will be missed by all of his immediate family as well as many other extended relatives and friends. Graveside services held Friday, May 6th, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Burt Cemetery, off of Temple Brown Rd. in Dixonville, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, the Boyer family requests donations made to our local Military Honor Guard or the American Diabetes Association.
