Dolores Plant (Gram), a selfless, loving, and devoted matriarch, passed away peacefully in her Melrose home. Gram was a friend to all, and her memory will linger in the hearts of all who knew her.

Gram moved to Roseburg Oregon as a small child from Bismarck ND.  She graduated from Roseburg High School in 1951 and went on to host and coordinate all the reunions for almost 50 years.  She had a 30-year career with the Douglas County Fairgrounds. After retiring as the exhibit director, her passion for arts and crafts allowed her to continue this connection for decades.  If you asked her, it wasn't a job, but more of a second family. She was a respected and well-known member of the community.  Many of her beautiful creations will continue to be enjoyed in homes throughout the county for years to come.

In August of 1953, Gram married the love of her life, Rocky Ford Plant, a US Navy veteran. They welcomed three loving children and were happily married for 43 years until his passing on August 24, 1996.

Gram maintained her strong and independent personality for her entire life. She had an open door and accepted hundreds of bonus children into her home.  She was always prepared with a fresh batch of cookies and a meal on the way as she welcomed everyone with her classic smile.  Gram's ability to recall a vast number of stories, as if they had happened yesterday, was emblematic of her mental acuity. Her cognitive sharpness, mental agility, and her vibrant love for life, led most to believe that she would live forever.

She was the third of four children and was preceded in death by her siblings, Georgia, Marilyn and Donald, and her husband Rocky Ford Plant, making her the very last of that generation and truly marking the end of an era.

She was additionally preceded in death by her only son, Bill, granddaughters: Deanna and Rebbekah and grandson Joshua.

She is survived by her two children, Roxie, and Debie, grandchildren: Johy, Nick, Pete, Corey, Ryan and Rocky, great grandchildren: Cody, Danielle, Christopher, Cassandra, Khaley, Shayden, Alison, Alivia, Corbin, Makiah, Mia, Serena, and Emerson and 16 great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by the numerous children she adopted into her home, who knew her as Gram, that she considered to be just as much her family.

Gram will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, at Cleveland Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 28th at Taylors in Winston.
