Denvil Kimble, age 92, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his beloved family at a local hospital; Thursday, June 16, 2011. He was born on May 20, 1919, in Marble City, Oklahoma. One of 13 children born to Erb and Mamie (Cockrum) Kimble. He is survived by his wife, Geneva, they were married on July 10, 1940, in Bunch, Oklahoma, and had been married 71 years. He is also survived by his eight children. Son, Rainwater (Claramae); son, Bob (Judy); daughter, Carol (Ed) Colter; son, Roger (Marie); daughter, Fay (Jack) Hughes; daughter, Betty (Jerry) Dennis; daughter, Connie (Craig) Chamberlain, and daughter, Donna (Michael) Cox; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter; one brother, George (Jewell) Kimble of Stilwell, Oklahoma and one sister, Janie Johnson who also resides in Stilwell, Oklahoma. One granddaughter preceded him in death. Denvil loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and being in the mountains, but not nearly as much as he loved spending time with his family. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad as an electrician and then retired from a long logging career in 1974. After retiring he spent as much time as he could with his grandchildren who he dearly loved. A special thank you for the staff at Umpqua Valley Rehabilitation Center who became an extended family to him. A memorial service will be held at Taylor's Family Mortuary on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, 2 p.m.
