David Lee Carter of Eugene, Oregon passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 at the age of 68. He was born in Amery, Wisconsin on February 18, 1943 to parents George and Cecilia (Steele) Carter. He moved with his family to the Roseburg area at an early age. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1962. He then attended OTI in Klamath Falls for two years and received his associates degree to be an X-Ray technician. He then married the love of his life Angela Laurance in 1965. He completed his internship in Tucson, Arizona, Dave and Angie moved to Bellingham, Washington were they had their first born, Kirk Anthony in 1968. Dave was then offered a position at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, working in the special procedure lab in 1969. In 1971 A second child Kari Kristine was born in Eugene, Oregon. He worked many years for Sacred Heart and finished his career at the Eugene Hospital and Clinic as the X-ray Department Manager. He took an early retirement due to health reasons and enjoyed many years of family activities. Dave is survived by his wife of 46 years Angie, son Kirk and his wife Lisa and their two sons Lane and Zachary, daughter Kari and two children Elijah and Zoe Ruth. Surviving as well, are brothers Ken, Wendall, Jerry and Harley, their wives, and numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 12, 2011 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Taylor's Family Chapel in Winston, Oregon. A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 13,2011 at 2:00pm at Gilham Community Church 3633 Gilham Road, Eugene Oregon 97408 After service there will be refreshments in the Fireside Room.
