Dale Douglas (Doug) Beahm, age 88, peacefully passed away from natural causes at home in Sutherlin, Oregon, surrounded by his loving family on June 2, 2024. Doug was born Jan. 3, 1936, in Spokane, Washington, to Eugene Dale Farmer and Rosalind (Glasson) Farmer. He was their second child and eldest son. Eugene and Rosalind eventually parted ways. Doug's mother later remarried and became known as Rosalind Beahm.

Doug was raised in Oregon by his mother and stepfather, Charles (Charlie) Beahm of Oakland, Oregon. He legally changed his last name to Beahm after his stepfather adopted him, reflecting the bond they shared. Doug and Donna (Lee) Beahm's love story began in junior high, leading to their marriage in October 1953. Doug, a graduate of Oakland High School, was passionate about sports and earned a basketball scholarship. After graduation, the couple relocated to McMinnville, Oregon, where Doug attended Linfield College full time and played on the basketball team.

Later, they moved to Monterey County, California, where Doug served in the U.S. Army at Fort Ord Military Base. Following the birth of their fourth child, the young family returned to Oregon, making Sutherlin their home. Sadly, Donna passed away in May 2022, after sharing over 68 years of marriage with Doug.

Doug had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, and hunting. Annual trips to Eastern Oregon with his family and close friends were cherished traditions that held a special place in his heart. Doug and Donna shared a passion for bowling leagues, attending local auctions, enjoying outdoor bluegrass concerts, and watching their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren participate in various sporting activities.

Most mornings, Doug could be found at the local deli, enjoying coffee and conversation. In his younger years, Doug was an avid car racing fan and enjoyed his time as a pit crew member at the DC Speedway. In their later years, Doug and Donna spent many winters traveling to Arizona in their RV, where they socialized with longtime friends and neighbors. A few years ago, they sold their country property of 50 years and moved into town, where they were often seen walking their dogs around the golf course neighborhood.

Doug spent most of his career in the timber industry, driving logging and lumber trucks for various local companies, including Douglas County Lumber Co. After retiring from driving, he obtained his contractor's license and founded 'Beahm Well Drilling,' spending the next 20 years operating his water well drilling business.

Doug leaves behind his four children: one son, J.D. Beahm (and wife Hazel of Sutherlin); and three daughters: Jody Perkins (and husband Rob of Sutherlin), Vicki Linton (and husband Paul of Phoenix, Arizona), and Valerie Ingram (and husband Chris of Portland); 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Doug is also survived by one sibling, his sister Donna Beth Parker of Ashland, Oregon, and five half-siblings: Dalegene Jones, of Castle Dale, Utah; Stacy Jensen of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Deena Stanbrough (Cecil) of Ferron, Utah, Ted Farmer (GayAnn) and Lance Farmer of Orangeville, Utah. He also leaves behind one brother-in-law, Tracy Braack of Roseburg, and one sister-in-law, Brenda Beahm of Prineville.

A special mention goes to his longtime friend, salmon fishing and hunting buddy of over 50 years, Steve Tilley. Doug is preceded in death by his wife, Donna, his parents, his brother, Charles E. Beahm, and his sister, Carolyn Sue (Susie) Braack. Respecting Doug's wishes there will not be a public memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sutherlin Senior Center.
