Charles "Amos" Hunter, age 44, passed away on April 30th, 2025, due to a Pulmonary Embolism.

He was born on July 21, 1980, in Roseburg, Oregon to William Don Hunter and Rita Osborne Hunter.

Amos grew up most of his life in Winston, OR and was currently living in Idleyld Park, OR.

He attended elementary and Jr High Schools in Winston, OR; Virginia Beach, VA; and overseas in Haverfordwest, Wakes, UK. He attended his Freshman year of High School at Rogue River High School in Rogue River, OR.

He received his GED from Umpqua Community college. He also attended two years of college at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, OR.

He married in 2001 and divorced in 2009. He had two children. Kaleb McClendon and Adia Hunter.

Growing up, Amos enjoyed exploring local rivers and waterfalls, camping, fishing, & hunting. He loved to read, starting at age 5 and continued this his entire life.

Amos also enjoyed gold panning, video games, attending pirate events, gardening, rock hounding, trying different nationalities of foods, and spending time with his kids.

Amos worked in many fields of employment that included:

Angle Head Sander Operator, Janitor, Caretaker, Gas Station Attendant, Certified Wood Treater, Fire Equipment Watchman, and Wildland Firefighter.

Amos is survived by his mother Rita Dale, his children Kaleb and Adia, son in law Colby Holdsclaw, brother Jacob Dale and his wife Barbara, niece Leora, sister Maple Lowe and husband Mick, nieces Carissa and Maia, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Amos was preceded in death by his father, half sister Cody Bixby, his maternal grandparents Virgle & Marie Osborne, his paternal grandparents William C Hunter and Shirley Pankey, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in July.
