Amos D. Loomis Jr. was born May 11, 1934, in Westfield, Massachusetts, son of the late Amos D. Loomis Sr. and Ruth Loomis.

Amos passed away on April 15, 2026, at 10:40 AM surrounded by his loving wife Teresita and family members.

Amos joined the U.S Navy in June 1951, where he served both in the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Amos met his wife Teresita Calderon (Tess) in Subic Bay, Philippines where they later married on August 21, 1958.

Amos retired from the Navy as First Class Petty Officer (Torpedoman) on November 19, 1971, in Barber's Point Naval Station, Oahu, Hawaii.

After retiring from the Navy, he relocated to Roseburg, Oregon with his family, where he went to work at Roseburg Forest Products and retired in June 1996.

Amos is survived by his wife, Teresita (Tess) C. Loomis; Son Roger Loomis and wife Renee; Daughter Ruth L. and husband Richard Della-Serra; Son Michael A. Loomis and wife Leann; Grandchildren Vance, Corey, Kyle, Matthew, Sarah, and Noah; Great grandchildren Brayton, Evan, Abby, Alexandria, and Charlotte.

Amos loved to travel with his wife Tess, where they traveled throughout Asia, Europe, and almost every state in the USA.

Amos was a passionate animal lover, both with cats and dogs - dogs were always special to him and throughout his life he always had dogs for companionship.

Amos loved to fish and camp, and he loved football season where he could watch his favorite team, the Oregon Ducks.  He loved to see his children and grandchildren play sports and attended as many games as he could.

Amos was a loving caring person and will be greatly missed.
