Alice Lorraine Davis, age 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday December 29, 2009. Alice spent her last few days comfortably at her home with family. She was born to Fredrick and Bertha (Chamberlain) Balboni on January 15th 1926 in Indian Orchard, Massachusetts. Alice was one of 13 children; she had 9 Sisters and 3 brothers. After leaving Massachusetts Alice lived in Washington DC, Florida, and San Jose, California, where she met her beloved husband William C. Davis. Bill and Alice were married on April 7, 1965. After both having raised their own families they adopted two sons Stuart and Daniel. Bill and Alice moved to Oregon in 1969 and within a few years had started their own business, Tax Control Co. Inc., which they owned for over 25 years in the Winston and Roseburg area. After Bill's passing in 2003, Alice moved to Garden Valley Retirement Center. Even though she missed Bill greatly, she enjoyed her life there very much. She enjoyed all the social activities like Bingo and group outings. Alice was known for her beautiful singing voice, outgoing personality and an amazingly positive attitude. She enjoyed singing, reading, traveling, sewing, crocheting, and her calico cat "Callie". Alice also enjoyed attending church and singing in the choir. Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill of 38 years; three sisters, and two brothers. She is survived by her five children, sons Pete Sparacino of Roseburg, Stuart Davis and his wife Angie of Roseburg, Daniel Davis of McMinnville and, daughter s Mary Sparacino of Roseburg, Diane Malloy and her husband Lambert of San Jose, CA, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren as well as six sisters and one brother. Memorial services were held at the Vine Street Baptist Church in Roseburg, Oregon on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 11:00 am. Private interment followed at a later date at the Eagle Point National Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon.
