Age 54, went to be with his father, Fred Gearin, and other passing family members on September 4, 2011, fighting Stomach Cancer. He was born to Fredrick and Betty Gearin on August 27, 1957. Alan was a lifelong resident of Douglas County, longtime employee of Basco Logging (nickname, Beano). He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He is survived by his son, Matthew Gearin; daughter, Michelle Gearin; mother, Betty Gearin; brother, Cary Gearin; sisters, Lori Gearin and Becky Davis; granddaughter, Jocelyn; and extended family and friends that will greatly miss him. A memorial service will be held at Tyee Recreation Pavilion on Saturday, September 17 at noon. A potluck BBQ will follow. Friends are encouraged to attend.
